What we collect

When you donate, volunteer or write to us we collect the details you enter: name, email, phone, postal address and any message or dedication you add. Payment card details are collected and held by our payment processors — Stripe, PayPal, eSewa and Khalti — and never reach our servers.

Why we hold it

To process your gift, issue the tax receipt required by US law, keep the donation record our auditors need, and send the updates you have asked for. We do not build profiles and we do not use donor data for advertising.

Who we share it with

Our payment processors, our email provider, and our accountants and auditors — each only to the extent needed. We do not sell, rent or trade donor information with any third party under any circumstances.

How long we keep it

Donation records are retained for seven years as required for US charitable accounting. Newsletter and volunteer records are kept until you ask us to remove them.

Your rights

You may request a copy of the data we hold, ask for corrections, unsubscribe from any mailing, or ask us to erase records not required by law — write to info@hoh.org and we will respond within thirty days.

Cookies

The site uses only the cookies required to keep the donation form working and to remember your language choice. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set.

This is a standard draft prepared for the foundation and is not legal advice. It should be reviewed by counsel in New York before publication, and the placeholder contact details replaced with the organization's final ones.
